Convert PDF to Word
Extracts the text of your PDF into a real .docx you can edit in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. Honest disclaimer: this is a text-focused conversion — paragraphs and page breaks are reconstructed, but complex visual layouts are not cloned. Perfect for editing the content of letters, contracts and articles.
How to use the PDF to Word tool
Select or drag your PDF.
Click “Convert to Word”.
Open the downloaded .docx in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.
Your files stay on your device
This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. There is no upload step and no server processing — open your network panel and check: zero document data is transmitted. It even keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
No converter truly achieves that, and we prefer to be upfront: you get clean, editable paragraphs in reading order, with page breaks between PDF pages. Fonts, columns and floating images are not reproduced.
My PDF is a scan — will this work?
A scanned PDF has no text layer, so the .docx would be empty. First run it through the OCR PDF tool, then convert the result.
Why is browser-side conversion better for confidential PDFs?
Because nothing is transmitted. Most “free PDF to Word” sites process your document on their servers; here the entire conversion happens in JavaScript on your machine.
Is it safe to use this tool with confidential documents?
Yes — and verifiably so. PDFAgent has no upload step: your file is processed by JavaScript running in your own browser and never leaves your device. You can open your browser’s network panel (or even go offline after loading the page) and confirm that no document data is transmitted.
